Acceptable Use Policy

Effective 22 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-22

Draft — legal review pending. This document is our current working policy, written to match how SynVoice AI actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change; we'll update the version date when it does.

Voice technology can be used to help people or to harm them. These rules keep SynVoice AI on the right side of that line. They apply to the website, the app and the API.

1. Voices belong to their owners

  • Only create a voice from your own voice, using your own consent recording.
  • Never imitate, impersonate or clone a real person — living or dead, famous or not — without their clear permission, and never present a synthetic voice as if it were a real, identifiable person speaking.
  • Never submit someone else's recording as your own, or use a recording to get around the consent check.

2. Don't use it to deceive or defraud

  • No scams, phishing, fake customer-care or bank calls, or impersonating officials, companies or family members.
  • No election or public-health misinformation, and no fabricated statements attributed to real people.
  • No fake reviews, spam, or automated calls and messages sent without the recipient's consent.

3. Don't create harmful content

  • Nothing that sexualises children, or sexually explicit content about a real person without their consent.
  • Nothing that harasses, threatens, incites violence or hatred against people or groups, or promotes self-harm or terrorism.
  • Nothing that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy or other rights, or that is otherwise unlawful in India.

4. Be honest about synthetic voices

Where the law or the audience's reasonable expectations require it, tell people when a voice is AI-generated. Don't remove or hide any disclosure we or the law require, and never strip the identifier that our audio carries in its file information (see the Privacy Policy). Don't present synthetic audio as a real recording of an identifiable person.

5. Protect the service

  • Don't attack, probe or overload the service, or try to bypass credits, rate limits or the consent check.
  • Don't share, sell or publish API keys or accounts, or create accounts to abuse free credits.
  • Don't scrape the service, or use its output to build a competing voice platform.

6. What happens if the rules are broken

We may reject or remove voices and content, limit or suspend accounts, cancel API keys, forfeit unused credits and, where the law requires or a person may be at risk, share information with the authorities. We review voice-cloning submissions by hand for exactly this reason. See our Safety page and Terms of Service.

7. Report misuse

If your voice, or someone else's, may have been used without permission, or you see anything that breaks these rules, email support@synvoiceai.com with as much detail as you can. We take reports seriously and act on them promptly.
